Jim Kiyoshi Akagami came to Canada from Japan in 1972 with his wife (30) and two young children (5 and 2 years old). He was 30 years old. The family's first language was Japanese. He spent 25 years writing and compiling his memoir for publication in Japanese and English, completing it at the age of 84. This history of the author's life represents a truly authentic Canadian voice. The author is a member of the Canadian Authors Association and believes that it is his duty to record his marginal life as a contribution to Canadian and American contemporary society.
